Wracked with angst over the fate of our beloved and horribly misgoverned Republic, the DiploMad returns to do battle on the world wide web, swearing death to political correctness, and pulling no punches.
This has gotten completely out of control. I never thought I would see our country's politics reduced to the degrading levels of a Banan...
The program was signed in 2004 when Bush was president. The eligibility rules for food stamps are determined by congress not the president. The partnership — which was signed by former USDA Secretary Ann M. Veneman and Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Luis Ernesto Derbez Bautista in 2004 — sees to it that the Mexican Embassy and Mexican consulates in America provide USDA nutrition assistance program information to Mexican Americans, Mexican nationals working in America and migrant communities in America. The information is specifically focused on eligibility criteria and access....When asked for details and to elaborate on the program, USDA stressed it was established in 2004 and not meant for illegal immigrants.“The partnership with the Mexican embassy was established in 2004,” a USDA spokesman wrote The Daily Caller in an email. “USDA does not perform outreach to immigrants that are undocumented, and therefore not eligible for SNAP.”
The current program is aimed at illegal aliens.
Congress may set the rules ... pass a bill ... but the president did allow it to be enacted by signing it.This hand out was aimed directly for the purpose of buying latino favor.
"The current program is aimed at illegal aliens."Where did you get that fact? The article you linked to says:"When asked for details and to elaborate on the program, USDA stressed it was established in 2004 and not meant for illegal immigrants."
Ask people working at USDA. The Obamistas make a big splash about this sort of thing, and then when they're called on it, they say it was Bush who did it. The same thing on the stimulus spending; they were so proud of it until it turned into a liability, then suddenly the deficit was Bush's. Same with this program.
