An American Coup D'etat?

This has gotten completely out of control. I never thought I would see our country's politics reduced to the degrading levels of a Banan...

In Contempt

Hard to return to the keyboard. We've been spending time in Wilmington, and find it grows on us every day. Wonderful town. From my house here, I've got my favorite gun store at 3/4s of a mile; my favorite gun range at about three miles; a great park for the dogs at just over a mile; a funky downtown with some fascinating history going back to the time of the colony; the beach; the museums; even an old and rare books store within walking distance . . . and did I mention the gun range?

I watched the House Committee on the Judiciary under its reprehensible Chairman Jerry Nadler vote to hold AG Barr in contempt for refusing to testify before the Committee--after the Committee changed the format--and to turn over to the Committee the entire unredacted Mueller report along with millions of underlying documents and legally protected grand jury testimony. Total nonsense.

The Dems have gone into full sweaty-palm syndrome, trying desperately to come up with some shiny new thing, e.g., contempt, Trump's tax returns, to distract from Barr's ongoing investigation into the origins and perpetuation of the Russia collusion hoax.

They act as protectors of the Deep State which, in turn, protects them.

The speeches unleashed on America by the Dem members of the Committee proved absurd in the extreme; they border on the insane, heck with that, they cross that border. The last thing the Dems want is for the investigatory spotlight to shine on the elephant in the room, to wit, the Dems knowingly perpetuated a colossal hoax (with, it appears, some help from the UK and the Russian intel services) in the hopes of reversing the result of the 2016 election.

Nadler says we have now gone into a Constitutional crisis because the President defends the Constitutional prerogatives of the executive branch. Nadler keeps saying that Congress forms an equal branch of the government. Yes, indeed, and so does the executive branch headed by the President. No, no Constitutional crisis there. Any such crisis comes from elsewhere.

We, in fact, do have a Constitutional crisis: the DNC and the Deep State sought to pull a coup. There's your Constitutional crisis and your contempt.

  2. Yes, I do find the Democrats contemptable. Demanding the AG to violate the Law, a Law that Nadler helped craft after Starr released his report regarding certain DNA evidence on a blue dress.
And you know if Barr had done so, they would now be demanding Barr resign for breaking the Law. I am really hoping that Barr gets so POed at the Lefts attempts to destroy his reputation that he times his indictments and very public arrests right into election season. And wouldn't it be delicious if the day after Biden gets the nomination, Barr announces Biden was eyeballs deep in covering for Hillary and the DNCs now nominated Candidate for POTUS gets frog-marched into a Court.

  3. "Nads" Nadler. Trying to win the most reprehensible 2019, but the competition is tight, Elijah Cummings is always showing in the top congress partisan hack lists, then there is the Kalistan crazy brigade of Maxine Waters, and Adam Schiff. Sometimes, I think to myself. What sane person continues to vote for these people?

Therein lies the answer, methinks 'S'...perhaps with the TLC of the collective, the sadly confused D'voter may yet clear the muck from the infected 'group psyche'?

Happily, the Doctor is in the house today, with a pill of wisdom that may be taken with or without food, says he:
'The fountain of content must spring up in the mind, and he who hath so little knowledge of human nature as to seek happiness by changing anything but his own disposition, will waste his life in fruitless efforts and multiply the grief he proposes to remove.'

Feeling better yet comrades? Call me in the morning!

  4. They've got to do what they can.... Hillary lost about a billion dollars of investor money in 2016... the mortgage payment on that includes coup attempts and general sour grapes.

  6. Salvorhardin: "What sane person continues to vote for these people?"

There are a number of threads here:

    1. These people are the ones who make what we still jocularly refer to as the "Laws". No wonder that their "Laws" are self-serving, not just when it comes to elections.

    2. These people organize the gerrymandering of constituencies, which means that many of us find ourselves in places where there is no point in voting -- the winner is pre-ordained.

    3. We the People bear a lot of the responsibility. Too many of us vote for the Party label, without looking as the idiot to whom it has been attached. Universal suffrage does not help with that problem.

    4. And we are suffering from a "Tyranny of the Minority" -- the idiot candidates are selected in Primary elections, in which only a small number of people vote. And those people tend themselves to be the most idiotic kind of extremists.

For years, I have been saying (to myself) 'Bureaucrat-Democrat Axis'. Now I'm saying it online. I think it's a useful turn of phrase.

  8. Believe it or not, one of the loonier D's of late, Mr. Cohen of Tennessee, has been highly regarded in the past, and was actually to be preferred over his chief rival in his first US House race (in a district literally tailored for him or another liberal Dem).

    Now he's just embarrassing.

  9. Greetings from Salisbury, England, where the Skripals were poisoned by Novichock, and our Cathedral was completed nearly 800 years ago. It is fun, following you, Diplomad, and noting your righteous indignation over so many things. Over here we suffer from the same bland political correctness that is blighting everything. Our politicians are generally donkeys led by asses. There is however a rising tide of dissent, that confuses the so called liberal left that cannot understand how increasing numbers, both here and in Europe, do not accept their interpretation of events and ideas. Keep up the good work.

Explosive: New Evidence of Weissmann/Mueller Entrapment Scheme: CTH

"Lastly, to repeat, this entire scenario was constructed by the DOJ/FBI team operation in 2017. The members of the Special Counsel were running the entrapment operation; the FBI agents were participating in the operation. This is not *investigating* criminal conduct; this is manufacturing criminal conduct.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was in charge of the Mueller Special Counsel.

The only way DAG Rosenstein and Robert Mueller didn’t know about the operation is if they both claim that Andrew Weissmann was completely rogue and in control over the FBI agents."
